Quelle: http://www.molodezhnaja.ch

Bobby wants to keep Katrina 'mehfuz' Promotion of APNE is gathering steam and after an initial teaser featuring the three Deols together, music channels have now started featuring a track choreographed on Bobby Deol and Katrina Kaif. A fast moving dance number composed and sung by Himesh Reshammiya, 'Mehfuz' is the number in question which has its setting on a stage created outdoors. The track has been set on the lines of some recent concerts by leading music channels which were held on open grounds with all the lights, pyrotechnics and the works in place. Flashy in appeal, 'Mehfuz' boasts of ever-so-stunning Katrina Kaif shaking a leg or two with Bobby who carries on his rock star look from the days of SHAKALAKA BOOM BOOM. The film also stars Shilpa Shetty in lead with Sunny Deol while Aryan Vaid plays a baddie. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film was finished in a time span of 8 months and is now aiming for a late June/early July release across the globe. (Und ja, auf Arbeit ist nichts los, sodass ich um die Zeit posten kann^^) Zusammenfassung: Momo

The Deols' Kodak moment When Deols -- be it Sunny, Bobby or Dharmendra -- feature in a film's credits, one assumes it will be action-packed. And Anil Sharma's Apne, starring all three Deols, will not disappoint. The film revolves a boxing theme, and also stars Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif. At the music launch of the film last weekend, veterans like Dilip Kumar and wife Saira Banu and Dev Anand made an appearance. Will Apne be a smash hit like Anil Sharma's previous film with Sunny, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha? Let's wait and watch.

Music ReviewBy Joginder Tuteja, May 24, 2007 - 15:31 ISTDeol family coming together is a reason to celebrate in itself. To add to the fun if Gadar-Ek Prem Katha director Anil Sharma is associated with a project and Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer are the helm of compositions, you look forward to what Apne has in store. With stars across generations [Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol] playing key roles in the film, the music is also expected to have a varying sound and a notch above ordinary. When Himesh Reshammiya is entrusted with the job of composing a song, it is but obvious in today's musical scene for him to kick start the proceedings with a song crooned by himself. The same happens in Apne as well as he gets into his vociferous best with his usual 'dhinchak' approach. A stage number with a rock concert look and feel, 'Mehfuz' features Bobby Deol in a jazzy getup as he dances along to Reshammiya beats. As is the case with most Reshammiya tracks, the song appears like yet another heard-before song but starts catching up on you as you hear it repeatedly. By the time you arrive at the remix version of the song, you know that you are not going to mind it as long as it is played. No, it is not of chartbuster variety but decent enough to look on screen and play on for a few weeks. Proceedings take a turn only or the better as 'Dekhoon Tujhe To Pyaar Aaye' comes next. Yes, it is a usual Reshammiya composition but those who have liked this style over the last couple of years would like lapping the tune up yet again. It's the rhythm factor which makes 'Dekhoon Tujhe...' a pleasant hear and the song gets on your lips pretty quick. Also an oriental feel to the setting makes it a number that moves in a slow and steady fashion without going overtly vociferous. Akriti Kakkar, who is being promoted by Reshammiya in number of songs during last one year, pairs up with Reshammiya and is yet again. It is high time that other composers too make a note of her and rope her in. As expected, there is a remix version of the song as well but thankfully doesn't jar. It's the groovy approach of the composition that makes 'Dekhoon Tujhe ..' a hear. Title song 'Apne comes after all the dance and rhythm and instantly reminds one of the kind of compositions that Anu Malik composed for J.P. Dutta in his war films. No, it is not the theme of the song which belongs to that genre; it's the treatment factor. A pleasant song which is soothing to ears; it is situational which should come at numerous junctions in the film. Longest track of the album, it is a welcome relief to hear Sonu Nigam this time around. A number that propagates family values and in short also narrates the basic theme and essence of the film, 'Apne' has Jaspinder Narula heard in her rustic vocals after a long time. With Jayesh Gandhi as a co-singer, this is a track which showcases a different Himesh Reshammiya as the tune is completely different from what we would have heard in his last 50 hits! Album gets back into the 'Mehfuz' mode with 'Ankh Wich Chehra Pyar Da' that has entire men power of Himesh Reshammiya, Shaan and Kunal Ganjawala coming together behind the mike with sole female singer Amrita Kak accompanying them. Who Amrita? Well, she is the same girl who had sung 'Just Chill' [Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya] a few seasons back! She makes a impression yet again in 'Ankh Wich...' that takes a thumping approach once. By this time, there is a caution sign though as those who traditionally have not been enjoying the composer's sound may not be kicked with the music of Apne. This makes 'Ankh Wich..' too as a kind of song which is primarily for Reshammiya fans. Ditto for the 'remix version'! In between comes a 2 minute filler track 'Bull's Eye' which is set as a club track. Crooned by Earl and Shaan, it has a Western setting and in all likelihood should be picturised on Bobby Deol and Katrina Kaif. Last track to arrive in the album is 'Tere Sang' that hardly lasts 2 minutes but makes for a nice feel-good setting in the film. Starting off with the theme tune from the title song 'Apne', it builds itself on Punjabi folk tune and turns out to be yet again composition that bears an Anu Malik touch. With Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula coming together again, 'Tere Sang' is a situational track that has shades of Yash Chopra school of music feel with clap beats and 'dholki' forming the rhythm. Apne turns out to be a decent album with usual Himesh Reshammiya tunes plugged with a couple of tracks that bring in the rural flavour of Punjab [as required due to the presence of three Deols]. There isn't blockbuster written over the album but for a film which is a mix of family and action genres, Himesh Reshammiya has given decent tunes that have potential to make for visuals on screen.

The Deols to tap their collective equityBy Subhash K. Jha, April 24, 2007 - 05:23 ISTSpurred by brand name Bachchan, the Deols are now planning their own collective strategy. If Anil Sharma's Apne which features the Deols - Dharmendra and his two sons, is a success, the family intends to come together in other films. "It all depends on how Apne does," reveals Bobby. “But we do want to come together, and why not? We're a formidable force, we can be. But we've to find the right scripts." Bobby Deol feels the wait for his film featuring the entire family has been worth it. "My father and my brother and I waited all these years to come together. That's because we didn't want to be in a script that didn't excite us. I think Apne is the right vehicle for us. I feel the three of us being together is an event for us. Though the Deols haven't produced it, I feel Apne is our own film. Everyone who has seen it says that it has turned out to be the ideal vehicle for the Deol family." Bobby spends a lot of time with his family. "I'm basically a home bird. I don't create issues on the sets. I don't let others upset me. I've six releases this year and many of them with other male co-stars. But there has never been an issue. I've never had more than two releases per year. My first release would be the small budget Nanhe Jaisalmer where I play myself. Contrary to belief, I don't have a guest appearance in the film. I'm there throughout. All my scenes are with a kid who's brilliant. It's a very real film." He ponders, "While I'm the baby in Apne I'm all grown up in Nanhe Jaisalmer.”
